New webcomic discovered!
Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki is a webcomic about a fanboy who meets the Norse messenger god Hermod (incarnated as a weird little fluffy brown marmosettish thing) and is promptly turned into a valkyrie.
Things get stranger from there.
Included: Genderbending. The spirit of Aurochsness, transformed into a cuddly "lawn cow." Loki incarnated as a knife-carrying stuffed cat; although he's a bit of a perv, he almost seems to not be actually evil. Thor, in his own shape. A sinuous version of Sleipnir which keeps calling Loki "Mommy" despite all his attempts to convince him to say "Daddy."
It's probably the strangest take on Norse mythology I've seen since "Oh My Goddess!"
What's more, I like it. ;-)
In other news, the gig went okay, once we figured out what tunes we actually knew. Made about five bucks each, plus tea, but that was more than I was expecting so it's not bad. Met a guy who used to be in Gaelic Storm and sang a song about life as an immigrant in London which I've never heard before.
